Despite everything designed to hurt me.. God has protected me. Turned every evil into something good. It’s an experience hard to fully express to people who haven’t had eyes to see God moving in their lives. Especially for those who have felt deep pain, because at first it can be hard to understand why God would allow suffering. But without pain, joy loses meaning. Life becomes robotic. There is nothing to learn, nothing to gain. But with pain we can learn to see and feel more deeply. Though I believe there is far more to be gained in a good society with less suffering, in a world that is still blind, pain can become direction. It can point toward healing, away from what harmed us, and toward a better path. Maybe that sounds crazy. Maybe it’s just me making sense of everything I’ve lived through and why it made me stronger. But I encourage people to shift perspective from: “Pain is bad. You hurt me.” to “Pain is part of life. I’m learning.”
